Over landing

Overlanding is not just a method of travel; it’s a lifestyle. The freedom of the open road, the thrill of discovering the unknown, and the closeness to nature, all while exploring the world, are what captivate us. That’s why we have embraced the overlanding lifestyle.

Our overlanding journey began in May 2023 in the United States. We shipped our Defender from Antwerp to Baltimore, marking the commencement of our multi-year, full-time travel life. Currently, we’re exploring North America, and our next destination includes a journey through Middle and South America. The current plan is to then ship the car to South Africa, where we’ll explore Africa before continuing our travels through the Middle East and Asia.

By traveling at a deliberate pace and being self-sufficient, we can immerse ourselves in various aspects of life and witness the beauty of the world. The desire for freedom and personal growth propels us forward. We share our experiences and knowledge about this lifestyle through various articles and sections on this website.

General Preparations

In addition to organizing the shipment of our vehicle and securing the necessary visa, there are general considerations to be made in advance. Fortunately, these considerations are universal, regardless of the country you find yourself in. It may take some time to work it through and make decisions. In our case we prepared the world trip for 3.5 years on and off, with almost full-time dedication in the last 4 months before departure. Once you have sorted everything out, you are well-prepared for your world trip.

United States & Canada

During the initial year of our world trip, we’ll be journeying through North America, driving all the way up to the Arctic Ocean in Canada (often referred to as ‘the end of the world’) and exploring the remote and wild landscapes of Alaska, where we currently reside for a couple of months. The final leg of our North America tour will take us through the West Coast area.

New route maps for other continents will be added as we continue our overlanding adventures. This way, you can closely track our journey and follow our route.
