Potable Water

For water storage, we have equipped ourselves with two compact and portable tanks – one with a 10-liter capacity and the other with 15 liters – exclusively designated for drinking water. This setup ensures a potable water supply that lasts several days, albeit requiring a refill every 5 to 8 days. The stored water serves various purposes, including drinking, cooking, and preparing tea and coffee. In an effort to conserve our water resources, we prefer to utilise natural water sources like lakes or rivers for dishwashing. However, in the absence of such sources, we allocate a small portion of our water supply for this purpose. On occasions when refilling becomes a challenge, we resort to a more minimalist approach, cleaning our dishes with toilet paper.

It’s noteworthy that our travels have predominantly taken place in North America, where readily available potable drinking water from taps is abundant. Consequently, we haven’t found the need for a filtration system like the Lifesaver Jerrycan, given the access to clean water in the regions explored so far.
