Stock or Already converted

The decision to build your own interior and equip the vehicle for your overlanding journey is a highly personal one, contingent on your willingness to invest time and effort.

Opting for a ‘ready-to-go’ vehicle offers the convenience of having everything in place; you just need to pack your clothes and hit the road. However, the downside is that you might be confined to the existing conversion, and finding a vehicle converted exactly to your specifications can be challenging.

It’s essential to note that purchasing an already converted vehicle typically comes with a higher price tag, encompassing both the vehicle itself and the added value of being ‘ready to go.’ Conversely, the alternative is to embark on the journey of self-conversion, the choice we made. The primary advantage lies in the ability to design every detail according to your preferences, both in terms of functionality and aesthetics. Building the interior ourselves allowed us to intimately understand the vehicle and all components of the conversion. This hands-on experience not only aligned the setup with our specific needs but also equipped us with valuable knowledge for potential repairs during our world trip.

Of course, this route requires a significant investment of time and skills. Additionally, it’s important to consider that the cost of converting the vehicle will be an added expense on top of the initial purchase. The overall expenditure depends on whether you undertake the entire conversion independently, collaborate on certain aspects, or opt for professional outsourcing.

In essence, the decision hinges on your priorities, skills, and the level of customization you desire for your overlanding adventure.
