SIde - Steps

Recognizing the excessive rust on the original side steps of our Defender, it became evident that a replacement was imperative. The decision-making process involved a thoughtful debate on whether to retain side steps at all. Given our tall stature, stepping in and out of the Defender without them was feasible. However, we acknowledged their multifunctional utility – not only for entering and exiting the vehicle but also for reaching items on the side of the roof rack and accessing the lower part of the rooftop tent.

Our commitment to practicality led us to replace the side steps, although our initial enthusiasm waned upon discovering their cost. Indeed, they came with an expensive price tag. Ultimately, we opted to invest in the same side steps as the ones originally installed. Our preference for a continuous, long side step spanning the entire length between the wheels outweighed the appeal of separate folding side steps.
